Introducing: How to NOT get High with Cannabis Series

We’re excited to announce a new collaboration with Hempsley, the How to NOT get High with Cannabis series. Hempsley is an educational resource and certified-CBD shop that empowers you with the knowledge you need to feel better, shop smarter, and choose the best wellness tools for you and your loved ones.

Hempsley was founded by our series host, Kristen Williams, in January 2017 — while Missouri was still in prohibition. Kristen grew up completely against all drugs, cannabis included, until a close friend convinced her to do her own research and try using this plant for herself. Once she did, she started digging into the science of what makes cannabis medicine, integrating it into her own self-care routine and utilizing it for her anxiety, back pain, and migraines.

About a year after her perspective on cannabis shifted, she witnessed the backlash against Charlotte Figi’s use of CBD and became passionate about helping people understand the therapeutic and non-intoxicating effects this plant had to offer. Coming from a conservative, Midwestern background and having been raised in the church, Kristen’s goal was to help dispel the stigma surrounding cannabis so that patients who truly need it could have safe and judgment-free access to their medicine.

For the past three years, Hempsley has worked to bridge the gap between the cannabis wellness industry and consumers by sharing information about the endocannabinoid system and how to care for it. Hempsley showcases cannabis as being just another tool in your wellness toolbox alongside herbs, essential oils, nutrition, and lots more in an effort to normalize its use in the context of a healthy, responsible lifestyle.

While cannabis education has always been a popular topic for Hempsley, they have primarily focused on nationally available products — specifically, hemp-derived CBD. But now that Missouri has legalized medical marijuana along with 32 other states, they are getting more questions than ever about how to use THC therapeutically. Although some people are looking for the “high” that cannabis can offer, Hempsley has noticed that the idea of getting “high” can intimidate and keep a lot of patients from exploring this medicine at all, so they approached us at Feel State with the idea for this series: How to NOT get High with Cannabis.

The purpose of this series is to help patients feel confident shopping for and using cannabis — in whatever way they choose. This series will be perfect for patients who want to

  1. Try cannabis for the first time without fear of getting “too high”

  2. Learn how to use cannabis in ways that allow you to retain focus and clarity during the day

  3. Share with a loved one how this medicine could benefit them without ever suggesting they get “high”
